LCM(Least Common Multiple) of two or more numbers= Product of the greatest Power of each common prime factor involved in the numbers with highest power.
SOLUTION:
We have to find the Lcm of 2,4,6,8,10,12 by prime factorization method.
2= 2¹
4= 2× 2 = 2²
6 = 2¹× 3¹
8 = 2×2×2 = 2³
10 = 2¹ × 5¹
12 = 2 × 2 × 3 = 2² × 3¹
LCM (2,4,6,8,10,12) = 2³ × 3 ¹× 5¹
= 2 × 2 ×2×3 × 5
= 8 × 15
= 120 minutes
LCM (2,4,6,8,10,12) = 120 minutes
= 120/60 = 2 hr [ 1 minutes = 1/60 hr]
Hence, if All the six bells rung together at 8:00 a.m. ,they will rang again together after 2 hr i.e 8 + 2 = 10: 00 a.m
