Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

  • There are some 50p and 25p coins in the bag.

  • The total number of coins = 30.

  • The total amount = Rs.11

To Find:-

  • The number of coins of each kind.

Solution:-

Let the number of 50p coins be x

And the number of 25p coins be y

Condition 1:-

The total number of coins = 30

\sf \implies x + y = 30.....(ii)

Condition 2:-

The total amount = Rs.11 = 1100p

\sf\implies 50x + 25y = 1100

Dividing the whole equation by 25

\sf\implies 2x + y = 44.....(ii)

Equation (ii) - (i):-

\sf\implies 2x + y - (x + y) = 44 - 30

\sf \implies 2x + y - x - y =  14

\sf \implies x = 14

Substitute x = 14 in equation (i)

\sf \implies x + y = 30

\sf \implies 14 + y = 30

\sf \implies y = 30 - 14

\sf \implies y = 16

Therefore:-

The number of 50p coins = 14

The number of 25p coins = 16

\large\bf\underline{question:}

There are some 50p and some 25p coins in a bag if the total no. of coins is 30and their total value is rupees 11.find the number of coins of each kind.

\large\bf\underline{to\:find:}

the number of coins of each kind

\large\bf\underline{solution:}

Let the number of 50 paise coin be "x"

Number of 25 paise coin will be 30-x

\tt\underline\red{according\:to\: question:}

➞50x + 25(30 - x) = rs.11 = 1100 \: paise

➞50x + 750 - 25x = 1100

➞25x = 1100 - 750

➞25x = 350

\tt\underline\red{x\:=\:14}

now let "y" be the number of coins of 25 paise:

 ➞30 - x = y

 ➞y = 30 - 14

\tt\underline\red{ y = 16}

\large\bf\underline{hence:}

  • the number of 50 paise coins in 14 and,
  • the number of 25 paise coin is 16
