There are some chickens and goats on a farm given that the animals hqve a total of 50 heads and 140 legs, how many more chickens than goat are there

Given,

Total heads = 50

Total legs = 140

To Find,

Total no. of chickens over goat.

Solution,

So, if the total no. of heads are 50 and legs are 140.

Then,  

50 heads= 50 animals

that means atleast 50 animals will have 2 legs,

i.e  50*2 = 100 ( legs)

Total legs are 140, so the difference is, (140-100)= 40, which means 40 must be the extra legs of the four-legged animals.

Therefore,

40/2=20 animals with 4 legs=80 legs.

So there were a total of 50 animals out of which 20 are goats and 30 are chickens.
