Let number of hens be x and number of goats be y.

As total number of heads = 25

=> x + y = 25 ..............[1]

As total number of legs = 80

=> 2x + 4y = 80

=> x + 2y = 40........[2]

Subtracting [1] from [2]

x + 2y - x - y = 40 - 25

=> y = 15

Therefore, x + 15 = 25

=> x = 10.

Therefore, number of hens = 10

and number of goats = 15
