Given :  There are some students in a class, and each child has an equal number of books.

there are at least 2 students and

the number of books with each child is a prime number,

To Find : which of these could not be the total number of books in the class

a. 20 b. 27 C. 23 d. 28

Solution:

Students  ≥ 2

number of books with each child has  prime number

2 ,3  , 5 , 7 , 11 , 13 , 17 , 19 , 23  and so  son

Hence Books each child has ≥ 2

Books = books with each child * number of students

20  =  2 * 10  ,   5 * 4

27  =  3  * 9

23  = 23 * 1

This is not possible as child are atleast 2

so 23 is not possible

28 = 2 * 14 ,  7 * 4

so 23 could not be the total number of books in the class
