Given :-

  • in bucket X liquid A : B = 3 : 2.
  • in bucket Y liquid A : B = 5 : 3.
  • in bucket Z liquid A : B = 2 : 3.
  • 2 Litre of mixture from X , 4 liters of mixture from Y and 2 liters of mixture from Z are mixed in a new
  • bucket.

To Find :-

  • If one litre of this new mixture is taken out, the amount of A in it will be ?

Solution :-

in 2 litre of mixture X :-

  • A = 2 * (3/5) = (6/5) litre.
  • B = 2 * (2/5) = (4/5) litre.

in 4 litre of mixture Y :-

  • A = 4 * (5/8) = (5/2) litre.
  • B = 4 * (3/8) = (3/2) litre.

in 2 litre of mixture Z :-

  • A = 2 * (2/5) = (4/5) litre.
  • B = 2 * (3/5) = (6/5) litre.

then , in bucket :-

  • Quantity of A = (6/5) + (5/2) + (4/5) = (9/2)
  • Quantity of B = (4/5) + (3/2) + (6/5) = (7/2)

therefore, in new bucket :-

  • A : B = (9/2) : (7/2) = 9 : 7 .

hence, in 1 litre of new mixture from new bucket ,

  • Amount of A = 1 * (9/16) = (9/16) litre. (Ans.)

The amount of A in new bucket will be (9/16) litre.
