Given :   There are three horses in a race A,B and C . probability of A is as twice as B,and probability of B is as twice as C

To find : Probability of winning of each horse

Solution:

Let say Probability of winning Horse C  =   P

probability of B is as twice as C

=> Probability of winning Horse B  =  2P

probability of A is as twice as B,

=>  Probability of winning Horse A  = 2 (2P)  =  4P

P(A) + P(B) + P(C)  = 1    as there are 3 horses only

=> 4P  + 2P + P  =  1

=> 7P = 1

=> P = 1/7

Probability of winning Horse A = 4/7

Probability of winning Horse B = 2/7

Probability of winning Horse C = 1/7
