Let number of 2 wheelers equal to x

Let number of 3 wheelers equal to y

Let number of 4 wheelers equal to z

Given that,

y = x /2

x = z

Total number of vehicles is y + x + z

= x/2 + x + x = x /2 + 2x = x + 4x / 2 = 5x/2

Total number of wheels = 3y + 2x + 4z

= 3 × x/2 + 2x + 4 × x

= 3x/2 + 2x + 4x

= 3x + 4x + 8x /2

= 15x/2

Avg number of wheels per vehicles = total number of wheels / total number of vehicles

Avg = 15x/2 ÷ 5x/2

Avg = 15x/2 × 2/ 5x

Avg = 15x/5x

Avg = 3

Therefore average number of wheels per vehicles is 3.
