The first clock is one minute late every 45 minutes and the second clock is one minute early every 30 minutes.

To Find :  At which times should the clocks be set at 9AM so that at midnight both clocks show the correct time?​

Solution:

9 AM

Mid night will come after 15 hours

15 hrs = 15 * 60 = 900 minutes

The first clock is one minute late every 45 minutes

Hence clock will be later by 900/45  =  20 minutes   till mid night

Hence First clock should be set at  9 : 45 AM

second clock is one minute early every 30 minutes.

Hence clock will be  900/30 = 30 minutes early

Hence Second clock must be set at 8 : 30 AM

First clock should be set at  9 : 45 AM

Second clock must be set at 8 : 30 AM
