There are two closed containers A and B conatainer A contains pcl5 gas at 25℃ temperature and 1 bar pressure. Conataimer B vomtains equilibri mixture of gases obtained by partial decomposition of pcl5 at the same temperature and pressure assuming that initially equal miles of pcl5 were taken into the container the gadee are allowed to excuse through a jinhone in the container. Which container will show higher rate of effusion justify

Rate of effusion is the flow of gas from one container to another in a specific period of time. The rate of effusion can be shown as:
R = P(T /M)1/2
Thus, rate of effusion inversely depends on square root of molar mass.
First vessel containing, PCl5 whereas 2nd vessel having an equiibrium mixture of PCl5 degradation and thus 2nd vessel having molar mass twice to that of reactant present in 1st vessel because 2nd vessel containing PCl5 along with PCl3 and Cl2 as follows:
PCl5 PCl3 + Cl2
R1 /R2 = (M2 /M1)1/2
= (2 M /M)1/2
= 1.414
Thus, rate of effusion of gas present in 1st vessel is higher than 2nd vessel.
