There are two crossroads at right angles, each
of width 2 m, that run parallel to the sides of
a rectangular plot of sides 82 m and 68 m.
Find the area of the roads.​

Hello Mate!

Area of first crossroad which is rectangular = l× b

Hence area = 72m × 2m= 144 m²

Area of 2nd crossroad which is rectangular = 48m× 2m

= 96 m²

Area of middle part which is square =2m×2m

= 4m^2

Area of crossroads= (144+96) m² - 4 m²

=240 m² - 4 m²= 236 m²
