There are two dice, one red and the other black, both are rolled simultaneously. Calculate the probability that
1. the number on the red dice is 3
2.each dice shows 5
3.the no. On the black dice is either 2 or 4
4.the product of the two no. Is odd.

1. The probability that the number on the red dice is 3 = 1/6

2. The probability that both red and black dice show 5 = probability red dice shows 5 × probability black dice shows 5

= 1/6 × 1/6

= 1/36

3. The probability that number on the black dice is either 2 or 4 = 2/6 = 1/3

4. The probability that the product of the two numbers is odd = 1/6

Total number of possible outcomes when product is odd = 6 {(1,3),(3,1),(1,5),(5,1),(3,5),(5,3)}

Probability = 6/36 = 1/6
