yet they can see each other without mirrors...

Let the girl facing. south be Girl 1. And the other be Girl 2.

The girls are facing each other as shown in the attachment....

Girl 1 is facing South hence she is placed above. Girl 2is placed below so that she faces North.

in this way they both r able to see each other.
