There are two kinds of MBA exams CAT and MAT. 1/3 students did not get good score in CAT and 1/2 students did not get good score in MAT. 60% students who aced CAT also aced MAT. If 300 students sat for both the exams, then how many students did not get a good score in both CAT and MAT?

Answer:

CAT

Students who did not score well = 100

Students who scored well = 200

MAT

Students who did not score well = 150

Students who scored well = 150

Students who scored well in both exams = 60% * 150

= 90

B= 90

A= 200-90

=110

C= 150-90

=60

Students who scored well in at least one = 110 + 90 + 60 = 260

Students who failed in both = 300 - 260 = 40
