There are two numbers such that sum of the numbers is 50 and the difference is 14 .Find the difference of their cubes.

There are two numbers such that sum of the numbers is 50 and the difference is 14 .Find the difference of their cubes.

let one number be x and oher be y 

now,

x + y = 50......[1]

so

y = 50 - x

x - y = 14 ................[2]

on adding 1 and 2 we get

2x = 64

x = 64/2

x = 32

since y = 50 - x

           = 50 -32

         = 18

so the numbers are 32 and 18

now 

difference of their cubes.

> 32³ - 18³

=> 32768 - 5832

= 26936

Given,

Let the numbers be X and Y

X+Y+50-------------------equation(1)

and

X-Y=14


From equation (1) and (2),we get

X+Y=50
X-Y=14
__________
2X=64

X=32

Substitute 'X' value in equation (1),we get

X+Y=50

32+Y=50

Y=18

Therefore the two numbers are 32 and 18

The difference of their cubes is :

==>32³-18³

==>32768-5823

==>26936


Therefore the difference of their cubes is 26936
