There are two numbers such that the sum of twice the first number and thrice the second number is 300 and the sum of thrice the first number and twice the second number is 265. Which is the larger number

Let the first and second number be a and b respectively.
According to the question,
2a + 3b =300. eq1
3a + 2b =265. eq2
multiplying eq1 and eq2 by 3 and 2 respectively.
6a + 9b =900
6a +4b =530

thus 5b =370
b = 72 and a=42
thus, second number is greater....
