The sum of two number is 906.8.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Let the first number be 'x'.

Let the second number be 'y'.

If the first number is increased by 160%, then the obtained number is 86 less than second number.

\dfrac{100+160}{100}x=y-86\\\\\dfrac{260}{100}x=y-86\\\\2.6x=y-86\\\\y-2.6y=86

If the first number is increased by 110 then the obtained number is 200 less than the second number.

\dfrac{100+110}{100}x=y-200\\\\\dfrac{210}{100}x=y-200\\\\2.1x=y-200\\\\y-2.1x=200

Using both the equations, we get that

y=2.6x+86\\\\and\\\\y=2.1x+200\\\\So,\\\\2.6x+86=2.1x+200\\\\2.6x-2.1x=200-86\\\\0.5x=114\\\\x=\dfrac{114}{0.5}\\\\x=228

Now, put the value of x in first equation:

y=2.6\times 228+86\\\\y=678.8

So,the sum of two numbers are

678.8+228=906.8

Hence, the sum of two number is 906.8.

Step-by-step explanation:

let the first number is 'x'

and second number is 'y'

x is increased by 160%

x+x*160/100=y-86.............(1)

now x is increased by 110

x +110=y-200

x+310=y.........................(2)

now put the value of y in equation (1)

260*x/100=x+310-86

13x/5-x=224

8x/5=224

x=140

y=450

so sum of two numbers =590
