There are two types of circuits: series and parallel. In a series circuit, the objects, wires and battery or power source are in a single loop and there is only one path for the electrons to take back to the battery. In a parallel circuit the objects are arranged so that there are several paths back to the battery. This diagram illustrates
A) a series circuit.
B) a parallel circuit.
C) both series and parallel circuits.
D) neither series or parallel circuits.

This diagram illustrates both Series and parallel circuits

OLegion: actually the diagram illustrates only parallel circuit. not a series one.

This diagram illustrates a parallel circuit.

The electrons/current coming out from the battery ,flow equally in all the bulbs and then join and end at the terminal of the battery.

Hope it helps...
