The correct answer is Total = 5 and tunes which include both dha and dhin = 3.

Given: Time of Dha rhythm = 2 seconds.

Time of Dhin rhythm = 1 second.

To Find: Number of melodies made by these two rhythms.

Solution:

Case 1: Taking only Dha rhythm.

2 + 2 + 2 +2 = 8

Four times dha will be a tune.

Case 2: Taking one Dha  and rest dhin rhythm.

2 +1+1+1+1+1+1 = 8

One dha and six dhin will make a tune.

Case 3:  Taking two Dha  and rest dhin rhythm.

2 +2 +1+1+1+1 = 8

Two dha and four dhin will make a tune.

Case 4: Taking three dha and two Dhin rhythm.

2+2+2+1+1 = 8

Three dha and two dhin will make a tune.

Case 5: Taking only dhin rhythm.

1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 8

Eight dhin will make a tune.

Hence, total five tunes are possible from which include both dha and dhin.
