Difference between the area of two figure so formed is 33 sq cm

Solution:

There are two wires of length 44 cm each

A circle is formed from one wire and square is formed from the other

Step 1:

Length 44 cm becomes the circumference of circle

circumference of circle = 44

2 \pi r = 44\\\\\pi r = 22\\\\\frac{22}{7} \times r = 22\\\\r = 7

Find the area of circle:

Area\ of\ circle = \pi r^2\\\\Area\ of\ circle = \frac{22}{7} \times 7^2\\\\Area\ of\ circle = 22 \times 7\\\\Area\ of\ circle = 154\ cm^2

Step 2

Length 44 cm becomes the perimeter of square

Perimeter of square = 44

4a = 44

a = 11

"a" is the length of side of square

Find area of square

Area\ of\ square = a^2\\\\Area\ of\ square = 11^2\\\\Area\ of\ square = 121\ cm^2

Find the difference between the area of two figure so formed

Area of circle - area of square = 154 - 121 = 33

Thus the difference between the area of two figure so formed is 33 sq cm
