There are variations not only in the form and type of precipitation but also in its amount and seasonal distribution because of the following reason:

The precipitation is mostly in the form of snowfall.

It falls in the form of snow in the upper part of Himalayas.

While it rain over another part of the country.

The annual precipitation may vary from place to place as it is too much in Meghalaya while it is too less in Rajasthan and Ladakh.
