Features of Alluvial soil are

These are the transported soil which are derived from sediments deposited by rivers


Alluvial soil consists of various proportions of sand silt and clay in the upper course of the river the soil is mixed in texture in the middle course it is medium and fine grained in the lower course


According to its age this soil can be classified as old alluvial(Bhangar) and new alluvial (khadar)


The Bhangar soil has higher concentration of kankar nodules than Khadar

Khadar has more fine particles and is more fertile than Bhangar


It also contains Potash phosphoric acid and lime


Crops grown in the soil are paddy wheat and sugarcane
