Here in the right triangle, It is given that opposite side is ( 5 ) units and the adjacent side is ( - 2 ) units.
So Applying Pythagoras Theorem, we get,
( - 2 )² + ( 5 )² = Hypotenuse²
=> Hypotenuse = √ ( 4 + 25 ) = √ 29 units.
Also we know that Cos Ф = Adjacent / Hypotenuse
Hence Cos Ф = ( - 2 ) / √ 29
