there is a coloured stone at the bottom of a swimming pool. Jasvinder is trying to hit it with an arrow. However , each time he misses the target by a narrow margin. Can you explain to Jasvinder why he misses the target and how can he hit it with more accuracy ?

Answer:

Objects at the bottom of a pool of water appear to be in a different position to which they actually are, because the light is diffracted (bent) on entering the water. To aim more accurately, try submerging the tip of your arrow into the pool and aim using this diffracted image of the pile (i.e. take the line from the bit you can see under the water).

Hope this will help you

Explanation:

due to refraction jasvinder isn't able to hit his target, as the light comes from the denser medium to rarer medium due to which the light Ray bends away from the normal Ray. He can easily hit his target by going into the water.
