There is a directive to ensure ‘equal pay for equal work.’
Which principles and ideals of the Constitution will be realised with this directive? Why does it happen that inspite of doing the same work, women are paid less than men?

"“Equal pay for equal work” comes under the Directive Principle of State Policy (DPSP). That is, Article 39 d states that “The State shall, in particular, direct its policy towards securing that there is equal pay for equal work for both men and women”.

When Equal pay is not given for equal work, then it violates Article 14- Equality before law, Article 16- Equality of opportunity in matters of public employment, Article 39 (d) – Equal pay for equal work  of Indian Constitution. Since Women choose different carrier objective which make them pay low than men.
