There is a fact that if we cut our hands near the the wrist people die due to the chopping of veins...... but the people who has lost their hands are still alive.... but how?

our arm contains more blood vessels and the pressure in these arteries is high as they are relatively in direct connection with major arteries of heart. 
and so ,
 more arteries = more pressure = greater blood loss.

the death that occurs when people chop their wrists is due to trauma and the heavy blood loss that out body is unable to compensate. cases of deep cut can cause arterial bleeding = faster and heavy blood loss
