  1. Area of garden is 6600 m square

Given that :

  • There is a garden inside a 150 m long and 100 m wide rectangular park.
  • A 20 m wide path is built surrounding the garden along the boundary of the park.

To find :

  • The area of the garden.

Formula used :-

  • Area of rectangular park

= length × breadth

Solution :-

  • Area of rectangular park

= length × breadth

According to the given data

  • Area of rectangular park

= length × breadth

= 150 × 100

= Rs 15000

Again,

  • A 20 m wide path is built surrounding the garden.

→ length of garden

= 150 - {20 + 20}

= 150 - 40

= 110 m

Now find the breadth, breadth of garden

= 100 - {20 + 20}

= 100 - 40

= 60 m

  • Hence

→ Area of the garden

= length × breadth

= 110 × 60

= 6600 m square
