There is a grassbed of width 1m running inside around a square waterbed in a park of side 50m . Find the area of the grassbed.

s = 50 m (side of park)
Area of park = s * s
                     = 50(50)
                    =2500 m^2
S = 50 + 1 = 51 m (Including grassbed)
Area of park including grassbed = 51*51
                                                    =2601 m^2
thus, area of grassbed = 2601 - 2500
                                    = 101 m^2
