there is a line p which is a transversal to line l and m .but in our book it is written that 'The line p is nat transversal ,although it cut two lines l and m .' can anyone can explain it.

parallel lines - they are always at the same distance and they never intersect each then the lines are said to be parallel

l and m are not parallel lines so p is not a transversal as they are not at the same distance and at the same direction

but l and m are being intersected by P at two different points so we can say p cuts l and m
