There is a lot of land in desert area, but it can't be used

Because, the land in desert area is sandy. It cannot retain moisture. This along with the high temperatures of the desert areas contributes to it's inability to be used as agricultural land.

Answer:
deserted area's land are not produce able because their soil has no moist in it. Also there is a lack of water in deserts therefore our required crop can't get it's required components.
