Given:- the length & breadth of the plot are in the ratio 15:7. And at the the rate of Rs. 100per metre, it will cost Rs. 44000 to fence the plot.

To find:- Find the dimensions of the plot.

Solution :-

Let the ratio be x.

Therefore, Length is 15x and breadth is 7x.

Perimeter of plot = 2( length + breadth )

⇒2 ( 15x + 7x )

⇒ 2( 22x )

⇒ 44x

Now,

According to question,

At the the rate of Rs. 100per metre it will cost Rs. 44000 to fence the plot.

∴ ⇒ 100 × perimeter of plot = Rs.44000

⇒100 × 44x = 44000

⇒ 44x = 44000-100

⇒ 44x = 43900

⇒ x = 997.7m

Hence, put value of x:

Length = 15x = 15(997.7) = 14965.5m

Breadth = 7x = 7(998.7) = 6990.9m
