The answer to the following questions and their sub-parts are:

a. (i) The organ P is kidneys.

(ii)  The waste product Q is urea.

b. (i) The artery R is the Renal artery.

(ii) The vein T is Renal veins.

c. The tiny filter S in the kidney is the glomerulus.

d. (i) The liquid U is urine.

(ii) The bag structure V is the urinary bladder.

(iii) The tubes W is ureter.

(iv) Tube X is the urethra.

The human kidney purifies the blood and removes all the nitrogenous waste that is very harmful to the body.

  • The main function of the kidney is to filter the blood and it is done in the glomerulus part.
  • The minerals, vitamins, excess water is retained back and travel back to the blood and the harmful substances are filtered out and through the loop of Henle, it travels to the collecting tubules.
  • The collecting tubule reaches the current which carries the urine to the urinary bladder and is then thrown out of the body by the opening called the urethra.
