There is a square of side 14 cm. There are 4 semicircles in the middle of the figure which are 3cm apart from the side of the square. Find the area of the shaded region.

side of the square =14cm

SEMICIRCLE :

radius =3cm

AREA OF THE area of area of 4

SHADED REGION= square - semicircle

= (side) ^2 - 4(1/2)πr^2

= (14)^2 - 4(1/2)(22/7)(3)^2

= 196 - 2(22/7)(9)

= 196 - (44/7)(9)

= 196 - 396/7

= 196 - 56.57

area of the

shaded region = 139.43cm^2

therefore , area of shaded region is 139.43cm^2)
