SHADED REGION= square - semicircle
= (side) ^2 - 4(1/2)πr^2
= (14)^2 - 4(1/2)(22/7)(3)^2
= 196 - 2(22/7)(9)
= 196 - (44/7)(9)
= 196 - 396/7
= 196 - 56.57
