Area of rhombus > Area of Trapezium & Rhombus has greater area by 2.945 cm²
Step-by-step explanation:
a trapezium whose parallel sides are 10 cm and 22.3 CM the distance between the parallel sides is 3.7 CM
Area of Trapezium = (1/2)(10 + 22.3) * 3.7
= (1/2) 32.3 * 3.7
= 59.755 cm²
a rhombus with diagonals 41.8 cm and 0.03 m
1 m = 100 cm
0.03 m = 3 cm
Area of rhombus = (1/2) * d1 * d2
= (1/2) * 41.8 * 3
= 62.7 cm²
62.7 > 59.755
Area of rhombus > Area of Trapezium
62.7 - 59.755 = 2.945 cm²
Rhombus has greater area by 2.945 cm²

Answer :-

  • Trapezium has greater area.

Step-by-step explanation:

To Find :-

  • Greater area ( Rhombus or Trapezium )

Solution:

Given that:

  • Parallel sides of trapezium = 10cm and 22.3cm
  • Distance between the parallel sides = 33cm

Area of the trapezium:-

As we know that,

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × ( sum of parallel sides ) × distance between two parallel sides,

=> 1/2 × ( 10 + 22.3 ) × 33

=> 1/2 × 32.3 × 33

=> 1/2 × 1065.9

=> 1065.9/2

=> 532.95cm²

Also given:

  • The two diagonals of rhombus = 41.8cm and 0.03m

Converting 0.03m to centimetres,

=> 0.03m = 3cm

The area of rhombus:-

As we know that,

Area of rhombus = 1/2 × d₁ × d₂,

=> 1/2 × 41.8 × 3

=> 20.9 × 3

=> 62.7cm²

According the question,

  • Which one has greater area

We got,

  • Area of trapezium = 532.95cm²
  • Area of rhombus = 62.7cm²

So,

=> Area of trapezium > Area of rhombus

=> 532.95 > 62.7

Hence,

Trapezium has greater area.
