Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN

We are given a triangle with sides 15cm , 11cm , 6cm

TO FIND

We need to find the area of that triangle

In this question, we don't know the height of the triangle, therefore we can't use the formula A = 1/2×b×h

Instead, we use Heron's formula for this type of question

PROCEDURE

We use Herons formula for this question

The formula is given by

A = ✓s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

Where S is the semi-perimeter of the triangle

==> S = (15 + 11 + 6) /2

==> S = 16 cm

(S-a)= 16 - 15 = 1cm

(S-b) = 16 - 11 = 5cm

(S - c) = 16 - 6 = 10

Area = ✓s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

Area = ✓16( 1)(5)(10)

Area = ✓800

Area = 28.28 cm^2
