\LARGE{\rm{\underline{\underline{Answer:-}}}}

Given:

Valence shell electrons = 8

Number of shells = 3

Number of protons:

As we know,

Capacity of first shell = 2 electrons

Capacity of second shell = 8 electrons

And,

Valence shell electrons = 8

So,

Electronic Configuration = 2, 8, 8

And,

Atomic Number = 18

Atomic number = Number of protons

Thus,

Number of protons = 18

Number of neutrons:

As we know,

Atomic Number = 18

So,

Element is Argon.

And,

Its mass number = 40

So,

Number of neutrons = Mass Number - Atomic number

= 40 - 18

= 22

Electronic configuration:

2, 8, 8

Periodic number:

Number of shells = 3

Periodic number = Number of shells

= 3

Group number:

Valence shell electrons = 8

Group number = 10 + 8

= 18

Name of Element:

Argon
