In order to curb the increase in lifestyle diseases, one has to have an active lifestyle.

1) Health regime:  Walking should be the prime factor in keeping one’s health.  Yoga and practising pranayama will help.

2) Diet: Not eating junk food and eating lots of uncooked food in the form of salad would not only help in reducing weight but also in maintaining it.

3) Quality while purchasing food: Checking for the expiry date is the best way to keep a track on the quality.  It is better not to get carried away by the covers and advertisement of the products. Green leafy vegetables and others too should be washed thoroughly before cooking.  There are prescribed methods for those and we should follow it.

4) Children should be thorough knowledge on the adverse effects of eating junk foods and on the importance of eating healthy food through videos, feel trip to malls, group discussions etc.
