Actually there is printing mistake in science textbook. Actually, it's not 'fatal'.It has to be 'foetal'.'Foetal' is a similar word of 'embryological'.
So, the answer is--

1)'Chordates' is a group of animal kingdom that mainly consists of vertebrates.

2) Comparative study of initial developmental stages of embryos/foetuses of vertebrates i.e.chordates, shows that there is extreme similarities that decrease gradually.

3)E.g.Intial developmental stages of foetuses of humans,pigs,monkes,chickens and other chordates are extremely similar.

4) These similarities indicate that there origin must be same.

5)As this evidence of evolution of chordates is related to foetus,it us true that there are evidences of foetal science among chordates.
