ANSWER :

" 37 DAYS "

GIVEN :•

  • Number Of Days = 30 days
  • Number Of Men's = 100 men's

REQUIRED :•

  • Number of days when the number of mens is reduced to 80 = ???

SOLUTION :•

  • LET THE NUMBER OF DAYS IS X

NO. OF DAYS = NO. OF MENS

30 = 100

x = 80

30 : x = 80 : 100

Product of Means = Products of Extremes

x × 80 = 30 × 100

80x = 3000

x = 3000 ÷ 80

x = 37

: HENCE VERIFIED ; THAT THE FOOD PROVISION WILL LAST FOR 37 DAYS FOR THE 80 MENS .

REMINDER :•

  • IT'S AN INDIRECT QUESTION !

  • In a Proportion , the second and the third elements are called "means of a proportion" and the first and the fourth elements are called " extremes of a proportion " while the product of mean proportion is always equal to the product of extreme .
