Wildlife that live in the forest require it for survival. The forest protects them, in many cases feeds them. Porcupines for example spend much of their lives in trees eating the bark, living in the tree and raising their young there. Deer require it to hide from predators, beavers need forest trees to build dams for homes and saplings to eat. Forests require animals to spread their seeds to produce more trees. A deer can eat some SEED pods off a tree while eating leaves and then later drop out the seeds to germinate elsewhere.
