hello
first of all ,
1. work done = qv
now whenever in que u r asked abt work done then u have to apply this formula

2. our second formula is  H =VIT
it is derive from 1st where q =  IT
SO, work done =  VIT
when work is to be done in presence of current or electricity it is said to be heat
now H=VIT......2
ACCORDING TO OHM'S LAW V=IR AND I=V/R
BY PUTTING THIS VALUE IN 2 WE GET H=ISQUARE*R*T .......3 AND VSQUARE*T/R.......4

when in que they have said to find heat we can use all three formulas but as per questions requirement....
if they said to fint heat and all three V I T are given then u can use formula no. 2
if they have given H V R then u can use no.4
if they have given I T H then u can use no.3

U CAN USE ANY FORMULA FROM THESE THREE AS PER I HAVE JUST TRIED TO EXPLAIN U BY GIVING EXAMPLE

3. E = PT
If we have to find energy then use this formula

NOTE: IT TOTALLY DEPENDS ON QUE THAT WHICH FORMULA WE HAVE TO APPLY IF U R TO ABLE UNDERSTAND QUE THEN IT IS VERY EASY TO APPLY FORMULA .

hope it helps....
if still u have doubt then u can ask me or else try to solve que if r not able to solve that que then surely u can ask me

kark: thanks a lot dear

There is nothing to be critical about it. There are many formulas in Physics. It is so for other subjects also.
I have a solution for it according to my understanding. Take one copy. Write all formulas and see everyday before going to bed as because our subconscious mind remains active that time. Now you are well acquainted with formulas.
Use of correct formulas for a particular question depends upon that question.
Suppose, in question u r given Q and V so u will use W=Q×V but if any question t and P is there then u will use W=P×t.
Practice it,within some days u will habituate with. Practice will make u to judge correct formulas at a glance without any mistake.
