there is magmatic blank between like poles
Answers
Answer:
A magnet attracts small pieces of iron, nickel, cobalt. etc. The magnetic force of attraction is maximum in small regions near the ends of the magnet. These are called the poles of the magnet.
A freely suspended magnet always points in north-south direction. The end pointing towards north is called north seeking pole or north pole. The other end which points towards south is called south seeking pole or south pole. All magnets attract opposite poles of other magnets and also a few substances like iron, nickel and cobalt. Thus if an unknown substance is attracted by a magnet, we cannot be sure whether it is a magnet. But like poles of magnet repel each other. Hence if there is repulsion between an unknown substance and a magnet, we can be sure that the unknown substance is a magnet. The substances which are attracted by magnets are called magnetic substances.
