Capital markets and money markets are both similar and different. Both markets provide a necessary function of maintaining adequate levels of funding. The purpose for which sellers access each market differs, based on their time zone and liquidity needs. In the same way, buyers approach each market for unique needs- capital markets offer higher-risk investments while money markets offer safer assets; capital markets offer higher returns than money markets, returns for which are low but steady.
