Griffin was no doubt a brilliant scientist but his lawlessness appeared to be more prominent than his brilliance. He misused his discovery and disturbed the society and its peacefulness by robbing a storehouse, hitting the landlady and the shopkeeper, having a fight with the constable etc. All these disruptive and lawless activities of Griffin made him an undesirable person in society who used his invention only for self-interest and taking revenge upon the people around him.
