Given : There was a chair seller one day he sold 29% of his chairs and still has 1207 chairs.

To Find : Number of chairs sold

Solution:

Let say Total Chair available = 100x

Sold =  (29/100)100x  = 29x

Remaining = 100x - 29x  = 71x

71x = 1207

=> x = 17

=> 29x  = 29 (17)

=> 29x  =  493

Number of Chairs sold = 493

Total chairs = 100x  = 1700
