Today, in the evening I saw a ghastly fire accident in neighborhood. There is a garment factory a few blocks away from my home. At around 6 p.m. I heard people crying ‘Fire! Fire!’ As I looked towards the direction people were running, I saw a huge cloud of smoke billowing in the sky. Within a few minutes fire-brigade trucks came hooting their sirens. After two hours’ incessant struggle, the raging flames were doused. On inspection it was found that a short circuit near the store in the factory had caused the fire. Fortunately, all workers were safe. Garments and cloth worth lakhs were turned to ashes. I also saw the fire extinguishing operation. The owner of the factory was looking very sad. I believe people should take extra care of fire safety at homes and factories.
