since printing press was not available in the ancient time scribes copied manuscripts by hands this was a challenging task because there are in instances the handwriting is not very clear and legible hence while copying they were are forced to guess what is written consequently there are small but significant challenges in the original record and the copied record over centuries of copying This small differences get accumulated and became big enough to bring about a substantial differences in Texts. this is a serious matter because we really find the original manuscript of the author today we are there for dependent on the copies made by later scribes hence historians have to read many copies of manuscripts that is different versions of manuscripts to before concluding what was original return
