There were 1600 soldiers in a fort. They had provisions to last for 32days. After 4 days some solider
left the fort and the balance food lasted for 35 days more. Find the number of soldiers who left the fort .by proportion method​

after 4 days 1600 soldiers can have provision for 28 days. since more the number of soldiers lesser days the provision will last so this is the problem of inverse proportion.

let after 4 days number of soldiers left in the fort be x

1600×28=x×35

x=(1600×28)/35

x=320×4

=1280

so number of soldiers who left the fort=1600-1280

320 soldiers..
