Solution :-

we have,

→ Total students in class = 90

→ Students who did not get any rank = 15

So,

→ Students who got ranks = 90 - 15 = 75 students .

Now, we know that,

• Position of any student from top/bottom = (Total students + 1) - Position of that student from bottom/top .

we have ,

• Harish Position from bottom = 42
• Total Students who got ranks = 75

Therefore,

→ Position of Harish from top = (Total Students who got ranks + 1) - Harish Position from bottom

→ Position of Harish from top = (75 + 1) - 42

→ Position of Harish from top = 76 - 42

→ Position of Harish from top = 34 (Option A) (Ans.)

Hence, Rank of Harish from top of the class is 34 .

SOLUTION:- The total student in class = 90

Total number of girls= 40

Total number of boys = 50

In which first 30 rank where got it by girls out of 40.

And only 15 student dod not got any rank .

So, total number of ranker = 90 - 15

= 75.

And Harish got 42th rank from bottom.

Therefore Harish get rank from top = ( 75+1) -42.

= 76 - 42

= 34 th rank from top.

so, right option is ( A) 34th .

Why i take (75+1) to find the rank from top instead of (75), it is because if i say to you my rank in 10 student is 7 from bottom then find my rank from top.Then you say 10 - 7 = 3 but it is Wong .why ? See below
