there were two groups of bird first group said to other if they get one bird of the second group they became equal... further second grup said to the first group that if they get one bird of first group they become double of the first group they my question is find out numbers of birds in both groups......

Let the no.of birds in the first group be x and that of second group be y

First group said ,
X +1 = y -1
X -y = -2
Second group said ,
Y +1 = 2(x -1)
y +1 =2x-2
2x-y = 3
By solving both the equation we get

X= 5 and y =7
Therefore the no of birds = x +y
=5 +7 = 12
